The Labyrinth

The Labyrinth is an ancient, symbolic path with healing and spiritual significance. It is a one way walk from the outside to the center that ultimately brings you back to the place where you began. There is no right or wrong way to walk or experience the labyrinth. One can walk it alone or as part of a group. When several people are using it, the will pass each other coming and going.

For each person the pace varies and the response is unique. One may reflect on a specific thought, issue or person, bringing about feelings and answers. It can also be a time not to think but to focus just on walking and breathing.

Often walkers experience a calming, centering feeling. There may be an inclination to meditate or pray. Usually the atmosphere is peaceful, sometimes with music in the background. Whether walked alone or with others, whether relaxing or energizing, there is a tendency to feel whole and satisfied by the labyrinth experience.
